The cross-border skiing area of Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal and the valley ski lifts in Kleinwalsertal are well known for snow and dits variety of well-groomed ski slopes. Cross-country skiing is just as important to us as winter hiking, sledding or snowshoeing. The Crystal Ground Snowpark in Riezlern is one of the best fun parks in the Alps and attracts snowboarders and freeskiers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland alike!

Kleinwalsertal belongs to the state of Vorarlberg located in Austria. Owing to the special geographical layout/access of the area there is an agreement in place with German customs for many years that gives us special economic rights in Germany. The three small villages Riezlern, Hirschegg and Mittelberg are located at an altitude starting from 1100m to 1248m and are collectively known as the Gemeinde Mittelberg. Tourism has been part of the tradition in the valley for many years. In 1937 there were already 470,000 overnight stays recorded.
